Christmas Day Hospital Visit

Yikes this may not stay up long.

This was Christmas day I was sicker then a dog. I couldn't keep anything down and began having contractions. I called the doctor and he said that I should go in and just get checked out. Well I ended up being completely dehydrated. They had the hardest time finding a vein and once they did we were there for another 6 hours while I had 5 bags of fluid hung. Once I became more hydrated the contractions stopped and I was sent home once I passed the peepee test saying I was hydrated enough.

Hard to look back and believe I was that big.

Kynlee Update 4 1/2 Months

Well time just doesn't slow down. Kynlee is coming up on 5 months and I just cannot believe it. At her 4 month check up she weighed in at 12lbs 14 Ounces putting her in the 30%. She has just recently cut two teeth but you wouldn't have even known it except for all the drool. She is seriously the best baby! She didn't cry when cutting those teeth, she barely fusses during the day unless she is hungry or tired. She loves fighting herself when she is tired she just doesn't want to go to sleep and miss anything. I finally decided to put her on a schedule since we would just go with the flow and stay up until 11 or 12 at night. She transitioned so well. She goes down between 8 and 9 we try to shoot for 8:30 and wakes up between 5 and 7 to get a little snack then sleeps until 9 or 10. It is AMAZING! I can get a few things done before I go to bed and I can wake up and do things (like maybe post on my blog more) or sleep in. She is a good baby but every once in a while when she does decide she is not happy she lets you know it. I have found that she does not like to be hot. Here in Houston that is hard to avoid. If I don't cool the car off before we head out within 2 minutes she starts crying. If she gets gas she is so not a happy camper. And recently she has become a little needy. We were trying to finish hanging her wall decorations and she just needed some attention. It was frustrating since I have been trying to finish her room for the past two months! I just decided that she would be fine for a little while while my mom and I finished hanging everything. She did survive :)

She loves the outdoors and the BEACH. We have been twice and are going again today for a beach birthday party. Kynlee loves watching her daddy surf and putting her feet in the water. We are avoiding the sand at all cost at least until she stops putting everything in her mouth.

Okay I am back and I have lots of catching up to do! I just can't tear myself away from Kynlee when she is awake to blog and when she is sleeping I've been stealing a few moments to get crafty (pictures to come shortly).
For Christmas I got a sewing machine and have been so excited to get to using it. I have to admit my sewing knowledge is limited to a Home-Ec class I took as a sophmore in high school and a few projects I have done on my own. Well I have set up a crafting corner in the TV room and set up my machine last night. I almost threw it out the window though! It was driving me nuts! I kept getting my thread tangled in there somehow (I was trying to sew Velcro onto flannel for a bib I'm making). So I abandoned that and just cut out all my pieces for a few projects. My mom gets home tomorrow and I will get her to help.
Have I told you how amazing my little girl is? (of course not I haven't blogged in months!) Well she is awesome! She has been sleeping through the night for over a week! She sleeps until 9am then I bring her into bed with me to nurse her. She falls asleep eating (so do I) and sleeps until at least 11am. I am spoiled. This has been really good since I have been a total night owl getting things cleaned and catching up on my friends blogs and craft blogs (I'm addicted).
As for Matt, he is one busy fella. He is doing really well in all of his classes straight A's so far although not enjoying his physics class too much. He works for his dad Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8am-2pm then Mon and Wed evening he has class from 6-8:30pm (LAME) on Tuesday and Thursday he has class 8-10am and is working every weekend at the San Luis hotel. I have to admit it is so nice having him come home with much more then he was making doing valet in Saint Louis but stinks that he is gone each weekend. Luckily he has also been able to get some good surf sessions and golfing in during his free time to keep him sane. My husband is pretty much superman he does it all.

Kynlee's Birth Story

I had a doctors appointment Monday December 27th where I was hoping to talk to him about inducing sometime soon. We had talked earlier about getting induced on the 28th but it would all depend on how far I had progressed. Well I was still at a 1.5 and figured he would make me wait longer but he ended up asking me when I wanted to have this baby. I said as soon as possible so he put me in the hospital that evening! We started on Cervidil at 8pm and I got a sleeping aid that knocked me out minutes after I took it. I woke up around 3:30am feeling uncomfortable contractions. It was my goal to try to go as far as I could without getting an epidural. By 8am the contractions were very painful they checked me and I was only at a two! It was extremely disheartening and I continued for another hour in a half with I had had enough. I let the nurse know I wanted the epidural and the anesthesiologist was there a few minutes later. Getting the epidural was the best decision I could have made! My body was able to relax and my contractions were a lot more effective since I wasn't fighting them and by noon I was fully dilated and completely effaced. They called my doctor and he was there by 12:20 I began pushing and at 12:46 I found out that the little person growing in my body was a beautiful blonde haired girl. We named her Kynlee Jean Theobald.

I can't believe how quickly it went and how completely painless it was. I was able to push effectively and I could feel the contractions. It was completely wonderful and baby Kynlee is such a sweet addition to our family. We are just smitten by her and I can't imagine my life without her.

We went to our doctors appointment today and I am 90% effaced but still at 1.5 cm. However, he said that we could set an induction date anytime after the 25th. So we decided that we would go for the 28th. So we will have a baby within a week or on the 28th! Craziness! Our doctor also scheduled a more in depth ultrasound appointment for us in the next couple days because he wants to check on the babies growth. He also warned me that I should bring a bag with us to the hospital just in case the ultrasound shows signs of distress or other issues. We are happy that we get to see our little one and just hope that everything is okay with baby T. We are not feeling too worried about it and just glad that our practitioner is being thorough.

Fondue Christmas Party

Last night we went to a Fondue Christmas party hosted by the Bunnell's and Nelson's. They supplied the cheese, chocolate and caramel fondue and everyone else brought things to dip. There was tons of fruit, meatballs, sausage and potatoes just to name a few. My favorites were the apples in the Caramel fondue. AMAZING! It was also an ugly sweater party but Matt and I didn't have any and I didn't feel like going and buying one even if was only a few dollars at goodwill. But we loved seeing everyone elses.
We also had a white elephant exchange which turned out to be a great way for us to get rid of some stuff before we move! It was a lot of fun Matt ended up with a cute popcorn bowl and microwavable popcorn and I got a nice little "home spa" gift. It was so wonderful to be able to spend time with friends and get to know each other more. We are sad that we are leaving right at a time when we have just recently gotten to know people better.

Doctor Visit Update 37 Weeks and Goals

Well we had another doctors appointment today and all weekend I have been telling Matt that I had better be progressing more cause I am just too darn impatient :) Once we got into our room and were waiting for the doctor to come in I was joking with Matt about if they did half centimeters cause I just wanted so badly to be more than a one! Well they DO! We just looked a each other and laughed when they doctor said that there had been a little progress and I was at 1.5cm. So there you go he also said that the baby weighs around 6 lbs right now. I am now 37 weeks and a few days and I really hope that I am able to deliver around 38 or 39 weeks just not Christmas evening or day! I am so ready to have this little one in my arms and to finally now if it is a he or she!

This week is going to be kind of busy although not as busy as last week. Tonight I have craft club and it may be my last depending on when we schedule January's and if I am up to it then. Tomorrow I'll be going to a lunch potluck for Wives Week (Logan wives get together and do things while the boys are studying and taking finals). My friend Brittany and I are going to try to get together also and take some maternity photos. Tomorrow evening we have another Christmas party to go to with a fondue theme YUMMY. However, the big event of the week is packing up our apartment. My goal is to have our whole apartment practically packed up before this Saturday when my mom, Tab, Carson and Conner will get here! We've gotten off to a good start but there are always more things you find or need to get done. Hopefully I will be productive and not procrastinate and knock this out quick. Well until next time!

Christmas Party

We attended our first Christmas Party of the season last night. It was at Brittany and Reddell's apartment. We all brought appetizers and desserts. The food was amazing and the company was second to none! Unfortunately we didn't get a group photo and I only took a few pictures but I stole some from everyone else. We also had a white elephant gift exchange that was pretty funny.

Cheesecake Factory Baby Shower

As some of you may know the Cheesecake Factory is one of Matt and my favorite restaurants! When we first moved here we ate there at least two or three times a month. SO GOOD. Well my friend Kayleigh asked a while back if she could put together a small baby shower for me. We decided to have it today December 11 and recently decided to have a luncheon at the Cheesecake Factory. It was so fun to go out to lunch with the girls. I was only a few weeks pregnant when I first met them (their husbands also attend Logan). I met them at a time when I felt very alone and like I didn't have any friends that I could really talk to or confide in. I can remember praying asking my Heavenly Father to help me find some women that I could relate to and build relationships with. They welcomed me right into their group and I could not have asked for a better answer to my prayers. I am so thankful for these women and I am going to miss them more then words can describe. My good friend Jenn was also able to come. We worked together at the Macaroni Grill and I just love her! She is one of the funniest most down to earth people. I will most likely cry when we have to move next month. I love these girls!

Baby Shower November 20, 2010

I had mentioned back in November my friends Emily, Morgan, Tara and Amanda hosted a baby shower for me. It was a lot of fun they had tons of different kinds of cookies and a fruit and veggie tray. It was so delicious! Of course we played the game where everyone guesses how big around I was. Then Tara had a game where we passed around numbered pictures of babies or toddlers but their faces had been removed and replaced with celebrity faces. It was hilarious and so much fun trying to guess which celebrity it was. I am so blessed to have such good friends. I had such a wonderful afternoon visiting with the ladies who came and talking about all sorts of things.

Texas 'Home Sweet Home'

Well it is official! We are moving back to Houston this January! We will be in League City. My mom is going to be able to watch our little one so I will be able to finish school much quicker than I would if we stayed in Saint Louis and I only took a few classes each semester. We are excited to be closer to family and Matt is stoked to be back by the water! However, we are going to miss the wonderful friends we have made here. Within the past year we have developed some great friendships and we hope that we are able to stay in touch over the years.

36 Weeks

Well another week has passed. I am still feeling really tired and today I was able to sleep in until almost 11AM! It was heavenly! I had quite a few things I wanted to get accomplished today but sadly none of those things happened. I am experiencing some numbness on the upper right side of my stomach. I looked it up online and it seems to be a pretty common issue among pregnant women but I will still talk to my doctor about it Monday.

This next week has a lot in store for me and I am really excited for many of the Christmas festivities that will be taking place.
**Tomorrow Matt and I are hosting at the Creches and Carols event that our church puts on each year. They have hundreds of Creches (nativities) and local musical groups that perform Christmas music in the background while you browse the displays.
**Tomorrow night we are also having our good Friends over for dinner. They are expecting their little girl any day now! Her due date was actually today!
**I work Monday through Wednesday and that will be my LAST DAY!!! Hallelujah! I am so glad to be done working I can't wait to throw away my work clothes after this week!
**My doctors appointment Monday!
**Thursday we have our apartment complex Christmas dinner and after that I will have the Relief Society Christmas dinner and program (lots of yummy food for baby T and I)
**Friday we are having a Christmas party with our favorite couple friends
** Saturday the above mentioned couple friends are throwing a baby shower for me!
** Saturday evening we are going to be celebrating our friend Tara's birthday with a pie theme! We are very excited for this!

As you can see we are pretty darn busy this week! I am going to have to be religious about going to the gym this week with all the delicious food I will be consuming! Below I have posted my 36 week photo. This was me right before going to work. Hopefully, my 37 week post (FULL TERM) will include some more fun pictures then just me showing off my bump :)

Doctor Visit Update!

Doctor visit went well. I am dilated to a one! This is great news because it means things are moving along and we are getting closer to meeting this little kick-boxer growing inside of me. My doctor also said that he did not think I would make it to January before delivering! Which is good but I am not going to hold my breath. I would love to have this little boy or girl come earlier (just hopefully not on Christmas Eve or day). I probably just jinxed myself. Anyways, we are excited and pretty darn stoked for our next appointment next Monday afternoon.

35 weeks

Another week has passed. I am starting to transition into that uncomfortable stage. Heartburn stinks, sleeping is becoming much harder, the baby is up in my ribs, sometimes when it moves it hurts and you really do have to pee all the time! But I am trying to tough it out and hopefully it wont feel like these last few weeks are taking forever.

I can say that I am becoming more apprehensive about delivery and then being a mom for the rest of my life. It is exciting and nerve racking but I know that the love that I will have for this little child will overcome all fears and doubts I may have. I feel so blessed by our Heavenly Father to have this opportunity to bring a child into this world. Especially when I know that there are so many couples out there that struggle to conceive and carry a baby to term. I am blessed with a wonderful husband who truly would do anything for me and works so hard so I can have the things I want. I do not know where I would be without him. Matt is going to be a wonderful father. I am grateful for our families and for their love and support in everything we do. I cannot imagine what our lives would be like without their help during these past 2 1/2 years and in the years to come. It is such a relief to know they are there for us and are ready and willing to help at a moments notice.

Well this kind of turned into a Thanksgiving post but I truly am grateful for my family and my faith. Truly there isn't anything better in life.

34 Weeks

Here is a little info about our little one from babycenter.com
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

Pretty crazy right! I can't believe I only have a few short weeks left! I have been feeling pretty well lately too. However, Sleeping has started to become a little bit of a challenge. I toss and turn a lot and wake up often. This has also payed a toll on Matt as he is not a heavy sleeper. But we are getting through and I told him the couch is pretty darn comfortable if he wants to try it out :) (I wouldn't mind having the whole bed to myself). This has led to me feeling pretty tired lately. I am hoping to continue working through the 8th of December but the more I think about it staying home and resting/ getting things ready sounds so much more appealing. I have also been having some pretty crazy dreams. The past two nights I have had dreams where I deliver my baby and get this... it doesn't hurt at all! haha I am pretty excited for this whole delivery thing as long as it follow the same path of my dreams literally two pushes and a beautiful baby appears :)

Today my friends from church; Emily, Tara, Morgan and Amanda, threw me a baby shower. It was a lot of fun and so nice to feel the love and support from my church family. As soon as I get pictures from Emily I'll share them. I was able to get one picture on my camera

Well things are coming together. Matt and I couldn't be more excited for this wonderful time of our lives. We are so blessed!

33 Weeks

We are at the 33 week mark! Crazy to think that in less then two months we will have a little one arriving here! We are beyond excited and are having the hardest time trying not to figure out what we are having. We had a doctors appointment this past Thursday and Wednesday I wanted to find out so badly! Matt keeps me strong though and I know that the surprise in the end will be so worth it. The doctor said everything looked great and that the baby was doing well (always relieved to hear that).

As for what we have been up to lately: Matt has been busy with
school and working as much as he is able with a few golfing sessions thrown in here and there. He is currently obsessed with wanting argyle sweaters and golf pants (I knew I would get him into one one day). Whenever he is home you can find him watching the golf channel or practicing his swing in the living room. (By the way he did hit the lamp which sent our scentsy off the end table and spilt all over the wall and some books we had laying by. What a mess. Momma was not happy)

I have been busy at work and recently asked to have some of the weekends off so Matt and I can enjoy a few date nights before this sweet baby angel comes to our home. Plus I just hate working weekend nights so it is win win. My school classes are going pretty well I am just having a hard time staying motivated to keep up with them. They are easy though so it really is not too difficult. I really haven't had much me time or girl time lately but last night I went out with my girlfriends for Kayleigh's birthday. We went to the Chocolate Bar in the city. It was delicious and the company was great but our service was kind of terrible. I didn't want to be "that person" but I talked to the manager as we were leaving because I just thought is was so ridiculous. Must be the hormones :) or that Sanders blood. Either way it was just nice to spend time with the girls I feel so blessed to have met them and have them as friends.

29 Weeks

I officially stink at updating each week but oh well it is what it is. Matt and I have been having a great time spending time with one another, school work and trying to get our apartment in shape (which seems to always be a work in progress). But our little one has officially been growing for 29 weeks! I can hardly believe how fast the time has gone by! I am hoping that with out busy schedules it will continue to go by quickly cause I am so excited to hold my sweet little baby in my arms.

Family Visit

Ok I have been a big blog loser lately and sadly there are no pictures to accompany this post (I know even more lame sauce, just edited and added one)... Sorry folks life around the Theobald house has been pretty busy. Mostly with school and work. However, this past weekend my wonderful parents (Mom and Dad Sanders) and my little sister Tanya were able to come visit!

They came in Thursday afternoon and after a quick snack from home we went to register at Babies R Us. It is so much less intimidating when you have your mom with you telling you what you do and don't need. I had tried to do it before but it was a major fail! I also was able to pick out the Nursery Furniture! It is amazing! It is what I fell in love with the very first time I ever went into Babies R Us but never thought was really a possibility. We ended up going back the next day and purchasing it and it will be here in 1-2 weeks! I cannot wait to have it in the babies room! Now I just need to find some time this week to clear it out and get it cleaned before the furniture is delivered...

Friday we went back to Babies R Us and got a High Chair, Car Seat, stroller and mattress. (they were having a pretty good sale) I also have been able to get $60 in gift cards there for either opening a registry, registering for a diaper Genie and for spending $300 on chicco products. So whatever I still need after my showers I will have a head start on.

Saturday we went to the Saint Louis Zoo while Matt studied for a few hours at the school. It was my first time and we loved it! It is such an amazing zoo and FREE! We did pay for parking but it wasn't bad and was so worth it since we couldn't see a place to park. There were a lot of neat animals to see but our favorite was the Gorillas! We will definitely be going back at Christmas time when they have their lights display. We picked up Matt from school then headed to Pappy's Smokehouse. Famous for Saint Louis BBQ. The Ribs were amazing but we had to wait in line for almost an hour! After that we went home and just enjoyed each others company, my mom and I went to the store for some mother daughter domestic education. She taught me a few things and we talked about different, nutritious and easy meals to make.

Sunday my dad made French Toast for breakfast! Amazing I always loved waking up on Sundays to my dad's "famous" breakfasts. We went to church then spent the afternoon driving out to the house we have rented for Christmas. We then went to Cheesecake Factory and ordered way to much food then we all got some Cheesecake to take home for dessert later in the evening. We got home and just visited knowing we had to go to bed kind of early to wake up at 5AM in the morning.

So today I took them to the airport and they got home safely. I miss them already and it is so lonely with out them here. It is always so nice to have family in town and makes me miss living close to them even more but I will get to see them in October for my Houston Baby Shower and then at Christmas time when the WHOLE Sanders gang will be coming here to Saint Louis for Christmas!

Fall Picnic

Yesterday Matt made us sandwiches and packed them up. We went to Logan's Campus by the pond and laid out blankets and had ourselves a wonderful little picnic. The weather was beautiful and the company was the best!

20 Weeks and kind of bored...

So I am officially half way thru this pregnancy! We had our second trimester ultrasound today! It was great to see our sweet baby! It finally really looks like a BABY! I cannot wait to be able to hold and snuggle my little love. I still haven't gained any weight but they baby is looking healthy and strong. The whole time baby was in the fetal position and wouldn't let the technician see parts of his heart or cooperate with her. Matt said that if the baby were a boy he would be like look at my stuff and if it were a girl she would be very modest and shy. So from the appointment he says it is girl. Also, according to the Chinese Conception Calendar it is a girl. We still aren't finding out what we are having but are sure having fun guessing. Here are a few pictures from our visit:

19 Weeks

To be honest not too much has changed. I have officially stopped with the morning sickness (knock on wood) which is awesome! I have not gained any weight in the last month and people cannot believe I am almost 5 months pregnant. My wonderful doctor said I would preobably be all belly (bless his heart). I sure hope he is right! I need to get another picture taken.
We have our 2nd trimester ultrasound at the hospital we are delivering at this Friday. I am excited for the tour and to see my baby again! That is all for now. Have a good Sunday!

17 Weeks and Hopefully Improving

Well here I am at 17 weeks. After some research and numerous facebook stalks I think I may have started to figure out how to take a decent picture.

Turns out Make up does help alot and so does looking at the camera. Next weeks goal: Fix the hair. I am determined to have the BEST looking pregnancy picture by the end of this.

We had an ultrasound on Thursday and Baby T is looking great! We got to see it's heart beating (so amazing!), its cute little spine and his adorable little bum (he looks like he is getting daddy's little bum as of right now). I am not sure if I have felt it moving yet though. Sometimes I think maybe that is it... I'll have to wait till it is bigger or stronger to really feel the movements. I have my hospital tour and second trimester ultrasound scheduled for Friday August 11th at 11:30. I am glad that Matt gets to go with me and excited to see where this is all going down.

In other news, I am back at the Mac Shack (Macaroni Grill) as a host and my feet hurt :(

Well here they are, my first official prego pictures! Let me start by saying that for some strange reason these feel like the wierdest pictures I have ever taken. I dont know if I am supposed to look at the camera let alone what to do with my hands and arms. If I am taking a profile picture and you can only see the side of my face "am I supposed to smile?" It is awkward and maybe no one else feels this way but it has been my experience. I took my first one when I was about 7 weeks and really there wasn't anything to see but we'll use it for comparison.
(I'de also like to add that both of these times I was working out or playing raquet ball hence my hair is a mess and there is no make-up in sight)

The traveling itch that is. Back in 2008, four months after we had gotten married, we went to Mexico with some of Matt's brothers and his sister in law. What could have been a fun trip ended up being a nightmare. Matt and I were at eachothers throats and seriously probably kind of hated eachother. Matt wanted to surf and I was ok with that as long as I also felt like I got some time to do fun stuff that I enjoy too. Well to be honest I was a pill the whole time. Matt was being a jerk because we had left Pascuales (sp?) and went to Puerto Vallarta to do some touristy things. I told him in Pascuales that if he wanted to stay and surf we could but we decided to come back with the rest of the group. Once we got to PV he started to throw a fit! (I can still remember wanting to punch him in the face!) I burst into tears and told him I wasn't going to spend another night in Mexico with him and that I was going to the Airport to change my flight and leave. He would let me leave alone so we both went to the airport. I called my dad bawling my eyes out telling him everything that had happen (well my side at least).

We couldn't get a flight out til the next day so we were just going to sleep in the airport on the floor (gross). We sat there for about an hour not talking or looking at eachother then I got up cause I was tired of being by him and started walking around. I found a hotel kiosk for The Casa Magna Resort and asked how much a room would be. It was only $135 so I decided that we would just go there. Once we got showered we were in a much better mood and were able to make the most out of the rest of the evening. We came home and somehow worked through everything and managed to stay married (on this trip I seriously wondered if there was anyway we would make it through).

Well Matt and I were talking about this yesterday and seriously just laughing. We have grown so much together! I would never call my dad like that now but at the time I was just going to the guy I felt would rush to my rescue and save me from this terrible experience. Luckly I have AMAZING parents that helped me figure things out by myself while letting me know that they would always be there for me and that they loved me.

Back to the original purpose of this post... for the past week all I can think about it swinging in a Hammock at Pascuales! We have decided that we are going to try to 'redo' this trip but with a better end result! So hopefully in April 2011 we will venture back to Mexico and have an amazingly fun time relaxing swinging in the breeze.

Our Day

I began writing this as my status then realized I was just kind of rambling on so figured I would blog about our evening. It wasn't anything fancy but was fun spending time with eachother. I picked Matt up around 3pm after my job interview back at the Mac Shack, where I worked last summer (I was HIRED). I was starving so we went to Qdoba and I got some chicken quesadillas Matt wasn't hungry so he just sat there with me and we talked. We decided to go see The Last Airbender (kind of lame movie) so we went to the Mall but it didnt start for another hour. We walked around and went to CHARMING CHARLIES (so fun) then Matt decided he was hungry. So I watched him eat his Panda Express while we talked about where we want to end up after we are done here in Saint Louis. Went to our lame movie then came home and couldn't decide what we wanted to do. Matt suggested that we go work out but I was not feeling like getting sweaty. I suggested we make a spontaneous trip back home but I'm pretty sure he thought I was crazy. We ended up spending the evening in Walmart just farting around. It was fun though we looked at baby stuff :) and almost bought a Cardinals onsie it was perfect but we decided to hold off. Now we are settling into bed watching a movie. Fun evening kind of boring to read about I'm sure but I loved spending time with Matt talking about our future and our goals. Being married is truly a blessing and I am so glad that I have found a wonderful companion to share this mortal experience with.

15 Weeks

Well I am still throwing up every morning but it has not been to bad. I heard once that if you get sick alot that you are more likely to carry to your baby to term. If this is the case I would gladly throw up everyday but I am hoping that I do not have to. Little baby is about the size of a navel orange. It can breath, suck its thumb and move it's fingers and toes. I have been able to eat better and can even eat salad! Yay! I have to pee all the time and that really stinks! That is all for now. I'll try to get some preggo pics up soon but really I am just rounding out not showing. My fat pants are fitting well and sometimes I sqeeze in my skinny pants but they are uncomfortable :( Well that's all for now.

12 Weeks

Things that are going on with our baby:
*Our baby is about 2 1/2 inches long and weighs 1/2 an ounce.
*The bone marrow is producing white blood cells and the pituitary gland has started to produce hormones.

Things going on with me and my body:
MORNING SICKNESS... what a drag! It hits just about every morning within 30 minutes of getting out of bed. However, it is the best weight loss program I've ever been on I've already lost 16 LBS! It really stinks not feeling like eating or not knowing what I want to eat. The things I have eaten the most often certainly are not very good for me. I've tried to eat well but it is hard. I have made it a point to not over indulge though.

Foods that I have been eating lately:
Macaroni and Cheese
Mashed Potatoes
Cheetos
Chick-fil-a Nuggets
Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
Tons of Juice

I wish there was more to say but throwing up and eating is about all I think about lately. Hopefully I'll find a job this summer. Finding a job and keeping my food down are my major goals in life right now :)

It's a Baby!

It is official! We are having a baby! Or as Jared would say a turtle. I am 11 weeks now and am due January 1, 2011. The doctor said that the first baby of the year gets stuff like savings bonds, free diapers etc. So we sure hope our little one decides to come then.

As far as the pregnancy goes it hasn't been all that awesome. Morning sickness stinks! I've lost 15 pounds already. I am hoping that it will be over soon and I can get to that glowing stage.

That is how I feel right now I know I am in need of a major update since I haven't blogged since February! Lets start with Matt: he is starting another trimester right now and just got back from spending a week in Texas with his family specifically with his brothers chasing surf. So really not too much new with him just school school school.

Here is what has been going on with my life:

That is about all I can think of right now I am sure there has been way more but hopefully this will hold you over for the next four months... kidding.

Cake Decorating Class

I signed up for a Wilton Cake Decorating class in January with some of my good friends here and I have been loving it! I really enjoy learning new techniques and am kind of going crazy over it. I have made one cake in class which is the rainbow cake.

Today I spent forever making a cake for my softball team's (Meramec Magic) BBQ tomorrow. I had some issues icing it and finally just decided I had done the best I could. I used a shell border and stars to form the softball and fill the letters.

It will be nice once I have some of it down so it does not take me so long to finish a cake. I'll be sure to post more soon! I will be doing my final cake for Course 1 Monday which will include the Wilton Rose. Wish Me Luck!

House Warming Party

This past friday we were able to have a house warming party. We invited some friends from church and also some people from Matt's class. I made Chocolate Truffles, pinwheels, bacon- waterchestnut wraps, peanut butter chocolate fudge and these tomato cups. Everything turned out so well. By the way when making fugde if it tells you to use a wooden spoon you may want to listen. My experience resulted in a melted spoon... YIKES. I was pretty stressed out before since I got out of softball around 3 and still needed to go to the store. At 4 I began cooking and was able to get it all done in two hours! I was able to shower and get ready and finish cleaning a few other things. Here are a few pictures from the get together.

First of Many

My parents were able to come visit this past weekend and were here from Thursday until Tuesday! It was so great to have them in "our" city. We did so many fun things and got our apartment looking like a model home! I think I'll break this into a few posts so I don't get distracted writing down every little thing. So one of the things we always get to do with my parents when they visit is go out to eat. We took full advantage of this and enjoyed some trementous meals.

Of course we had to take them to Five Guys since they had never been. This is one of our favorite burger joints.

We went to Amagetti's at The Hill and had delicious sandwiches!

On the last night they were here they took us to Bacanas a Brazilian Rotizio Grill (pardon my spelling). It was really good and the service was great!

We also were able to enjoy P.F. Changs, Macaroni Grill and Chili's.

Trimester 1

Well Matt has done it! He survived the ASP (accelerated science program) and began Tri 1 today. Yesterday we went to his orientation. I had him dress nicely, he is in a doctoral program after all. There were a few others who had slacks, a button up and tie. I was slightly shocked that the majority of the students came in jeans, hoodies, beanies etc. When we first got there and picked up his packet with his schedule and other paper work we got a lot of comments from the faculty and staff members on the way he was dressed. It gave me a chance to later say I told you so since he was not to stoked about the idea of dressing up. Through out the whole day he received compliments and even though he didn't care much it made me happy.

It was great to see how excited he is about starting this program and being able to leave here in a few years with the knowledge he needs to help other people live healthy well lives. I also love the people in his class we have had time to get to know them during ASP and I look forward to the friendships we will be able to grow over the next 3 1/2 years.

Christmas Break Update

We decided to drive to Houston this year from Missouri. We left around 5am and got into Houston around 6pm. We only had to fill up three times! Amazing we love our new little car. The drive was easy and clear roads. We did have one scare though I was driving and going 12 over. As I came over the hill there was a cop and as soon as I went by him he turned on his lights. I thought I was done for and began to pull over. Thankfully he ended up pulling over the car behind me. Needless to say I was a little shaken up and light headed.

We spent Christmas Eve with the Theobalds at Zach and Jen's where we ate good food, read Luke 2 and played games. We stayed with my parents that night and they woke us up at 7am for Christmas morning.

We feel so incredibly blessed for all that we have been given and wonderful family members that help us out and bring such joy to our lives. We love our savior and all that he has given to us. This truly is a season for remembering him and the things he has done. Let us all try each day to be more like him and find ways to serve our fellow man.

Christmas In Old Saint Charles

This past Saturday we had the opportunity to go to Old Saint Charles with one of Matt's Paintball buddies and his family. We ate at R.T. Weilers and had some delicious Bison Burgers (Matt is in Love). Then we walk up and down the old cobble stone street going into a few of the shops along the way. It was a lot of fun but cold and wet. Not raining but misting. This is definitely a shopping area but to keep the kids entertained they hire theatre students from Lindenwood University to dress up as different characters including different Santas from around the world and from different time periods. They are really good at staying in Character and hand out cards for the kids to collect. We only got our picture with Serenity the Christmas Angel but we enjoyed the afternoon. I kept commenting to Matt that my mom and Tabatha would have had fun going through the shops

Early Bird Special

How could I forget the wonderful tradition of Black Friday. Yes we woke up early and braved the crowds... or what we though was going to be a crowd. Kohls was really the only stor I wanted to go to it opened at 4am and I knew Matt was not to stoked about the prospect of waking up before the sun and racing through the store to get the things on our (well my) list. We got to Kohls at 3:35am and to our suprise there were only about 20 people in line. I was pretty excited at this point thinking at least I dont have to beat up some granny to get my shower curtain. We did a really good job at sticking to our list and got in and out pretty quickly. We decided to stop by Walmart and pick up a few towels I had seen on sale and see if there were any good $2 DVDs. The DVDs were kind of a bust but we got some super nice towels out of it. The check out line was intense though! Yikes.

I am unsure if I will be able to get my sweet husband to go with me next year but he was sure a trooper and good sport about being "cart boy" for the morning. We were dont by 6:45am... Can't beat that.

SVU Softball 2006

While in Utah I was able to catch up with some of the girls I played softball with and my coach from Southern Virginia University. I had a blast catching up with them and reliving stories from the season. I sincerly miss these girls and hope that we can plan a reunion at some point in time for the whole team.

Kathryn's Senior Recital

Kathryn has been my best friend since Summer 2006. Our boyfriends were friends while we were in High School and we really never paid much attention to eachother I actually remember thinking she was kind of annoying. Then the guys were gone (she actually married her's when he returned from his mission) and we figured out that we had alot in common most of all a "special" kind of sense of humor. She actually dated Matt casually in 2006 and I remeber telling her all the time that she was freaking lucky due to his intense hottness. She got married I was a Bridesmaid in her wedding and she flew out for my wedding and was a bridesmaid in all but title. Over the years we have been able to attend important milestones in eachothers lives and have supported eachother through the good and the bad. It was awesome when we lived in Idaho and they were in Utah we would go see them or they would come and visit family in Idaho and we would go to dinner.
Anyways, she is a senior at BYU and is Performing Arts (Opera... yes she is that awesome). I was able to make it to her Junior recital this past March and really wanted to be able to come to her senior recital. Matt and I looked over the finances and there was enough for me to make the trip out. I held it inside for over two weeks and wanted to suprise her but I couldnt hold it in any longer and told her. I was so excited to go and see her perform.

No- Shave November

Oh dear this past month was simply horrible. Not because we are stuggling financially or that the semster was quickly coming to an end but because of a little tradition called No-Shave Novemeber. It is were the guys go the whole month without shaving their facial hair. Lucky me my husband decided to start a few weeks before November to get a leg up on the competition. He thoroughly enjoyed himself however he did notice a substantial decrease in the kissing department. Normally I love to snuggle up to my sweethart at night and usually my hair will tickle his face.. However, this month I felt like I was snuggling up to a porcupine... OUCH! I am glad he had his fun though.

Living Quarters

We as some of you may know Matt and I have been living in the basement of a couple from our ward since April. It has been a huge blessing and we are so grateful for thier hospitality. However, it is hard to not be in your own place. It has made me long for our tiny rinky-dink apartment in Idaho. Oh how I miss the dirty orange carpet(literaly pretty dirty).

Matt and I have been trying to decide when we would eventually move out. I want to be out like yesterday and he would try to convince me to stay till the end of next summer. Well being the sweet husband he is he agreed that we could do it sooner... As in January! Well today we called the place we had decided to move into to ask a few questions. Well the special we are interested in ends Dec 10 and we were hoping to move in the begining of January (since we will be out of town for Christmas). We are still trying to decide what to do but we are thinking that we may just bite the bullet and move in Dec 10 to save money down the road. So the upside would be us coming home from holiday to a put together apartment. Down side paying a months rent and only spending a few days there... Either way I am excited to get our stuff out of storage and have OUR PLACE!

Halloween 2009

OK well we did not do the traditional halloween celebrations. We decided that it would be fun if we invited some of Matt's classmates over to have a bonfire in the backyard to roast marshmallows and brats or hot dogs. Aaron brough apples with cinnamon wraped in foil and put them in the coals... however, we forgot about them and they ended up being mostly charcoaled.

Later we came inside to chat and the boys decided they wanted to go out to the hot tub. The wives stayed unside and talked until we heard the boys being loud and went out to find this:

The top had been open for awhile so it was around 91 degrees. They decided to put the top back on but still stay in... Silly Boys! Of coarse they wanted me to take a picture.

All together we had a wonderful evening with friends. We look forward to having many more bon fires and trying new food to cook.

Halloween Party

This weekend we went to a Halloween Party at the house of one of Matt's Paintball buddies. We always have a hard time decideing on a costumes and this year was no different. We went to a few stores but things are really expensive for wearing it maybe twice. Matt ended up being a ninja and I was a princess... although you could call me a fashon confused princess. It was kind of last minute so trying to make my dress appropriate was difficult. This is how it ended up.

Gumbo Flats 5K

A few months ago my friend Emily posted that she was going to sign up for a 5k (3.1 Miles). I had been wanting to start training for a marathon a few months before that and well no training had begun so I thought this would be a good way to start. In all honesty I did not train at all. I had run with my softball team about 1.5 miles maybe once or twice week and then softball ended and I wasn't doing much to prepare.

On Thursday Emily and I went together to pick up our packets and get our numbers.

Friday I went with Matt to find an overcoat for him and to show eachother some gift ideas for christmas. We were in Dicks and I ended up buying some new running shoes since mine were starting to give me back aches. We ate and went home. I had told Matt that we needed to try and get to bed early so I would be rested for the race the next morning. We eneded up going to bed around 10:30 :[ That night I had the worst time staying asleep. I kept having dreams that I had woken up and it was 7:59 (the race started at 8) or that or that I woke up to Emily Calling me asking me where I was because she had just finished the race. By the time I woke up I was exhausted just from my sleep. I was also in a rush because I was so nervous. I got ready and we got in our cars.. we were running late and I was freaking out inside while trying not to speed. Needles to say we got there in time.

I met up with Emily and we got in line along with the other 1600 participants. And we were off. I had originaly set the goal to finish in 35 min but a few days before decided that 40 min would be ok too. Emily and I ran the first 2 miles together and shortly after I needed to walk a few seconds so I told her to keep going. She did the whole thing with out stopping. She is Awesome. I only walked for few seconds and then began running again. I came in about 30 seconds after Emily with a time of 37:4_ I dont really remember.

Matt had told me that he would probably be heading to work once he sent me off so I was kind of bummed about that. However, when I was about 30 yards from the finish I heard him cheering for me. I can't describe how good that made me feel. Having his support is everything and I was glad I had someone to meet me at the finish line.

Emily and I have decided that we are going to make this a tradition and run this race every year. One day I will run my marathon but for now I am enjoying the fun that small races bring and hope to do many many more in the near future (the near not cold future so lets say SPRING/ SUMMER)!

A Little Update

We have been very busy lately! Matt is taking his Organic Chemistry class which has been challenging and Medical Terminoligy which he has been kicking butt in. Today we recieved his Conditional Acceptance letter into the January 2010 class! It is getting close! We are getting very excited to begin the program. Matt is also working in the blood lab at the school and playing paintball when he gets the time.

I have been very busy with school which I am doing very well in! It has been really nice to do well and boost up the GPA! Softball has been ok. The season started off really well but lately it has been a downer. We played Saint Louis University this past weekend and did not do so well. We play Mizzou (University of Missouri) this weekend and then will be done with our Fall ball season. I recently quit my job at the Macaronie Grill and now am only doing reports for my dad. I am enjoying the extra time and Matt and I have been able to spend alot of time together. We are enjoying it while we can seeing as we probably won't see much of eachother next semester. Between his busy school schedule and my softball and schooling we'll be lucky if we get to talk to eachother. Well there is our little update. Hopefully I'll be able to update soon!

Not Just Any Baseball Game

As you all know we love baseball games! We had a unique opportunity to go a cardinals game when they were playing the Astros. The stros lost but it was still such a fun experience. Ok ok yall are thinking what the heck it is just another professional baseball game... well that is because we were sitting in the most amazing seats ever! We were given 4 tickets to the "Cards Club" aka the green seats aka the when you cheer for the players they can actually hear you seats lol.
We were feeling pretty spoiled as we walked into the club and they asked us if we wanted to have the buffet... why yes we would. It included Salmon, chicken, amazing potatoes yummy salads, desserts etc.! Then we walked to our seats 5 rows from home plate and had a seat attendant that would bring us drinks and food through the seventh innning. Between us and our friends we ate
3 nachos
3 eddy's dibs (ice cream)
2 delicious fruit plates
2 chicken wraps
1 hamburger
1 brat
1 hot dog
and about 50 sodas
All in all we had a blast it is nice to be spoiled every now and then!

500 DAYS OF US

Today is the 500th day we have been married! I am so greatful for a hardworking husband that puts so much into his schooling to be able to provide for us in the future. I love how he loves me! He even took me to The Time Travelers Wife and let me cry on his shoulder. Love love love him!!!

Woohoo Matt won tickets to todays Cardinals game from the school raffel. So we "sinned" and went. Baseball games are probably in Matt and my top favorite 3 things! Since we started dating we have loved getting to go to Astro's games and have been lucky enough to score tickets from working or from Matt's mom's work. We were especially excited to get to go today since we haven't been downtown or to Busch Stadium. Happenings

Well here has been alot going on here in St. Louis. Matt had his first exam last week and has been very busy studying and working on Saturdays at the Splatt a paintball field. As a result my life has been quite boring! My usual day consited of sleeping til I felt like waking up then watching TV and doing reports for my dad. Something needed to change so I took some initiative an decided to get a job. I went to the Mall and applied at New York & Co. but the prospect of making $7.50-$8/hr was just a litle to depressing. So I decided to also apply at Macaroni Grill. Walked in and was hired on the spot. After a week of training and follows tonight I did my certification and passed with flying colors! I did awesome! So I start serving Thursday!

On top of all of this today I went to Meramec Community College and went through a tryout to determine if they wanted to give me a scholarship to play. As well it went very well. I am a little out of shape but I rocked it at the plate and did well in the field. Long story short I am getting moola! And my coach had previously told me that we were going to be trying to go to Florida for our spring break travel ball BUT that ended up going to cost too much so we are going to Texas to play and where else but ALVIN and GALVESTON! So I am stoked that I get to go home and that my family gets to see me play without having to travel too far.

Boston

One weekend we went to Boston and spent time in the Boston Commons where we feed the ducks and swans (after we found out that we wern't supposed to but Carson and Conner liked it so I don't care :) I'm a good Aunt. We also went over to the Harbor and were aboe to attend the Volvo Ocean Race event. Then on the way back to our car we picked up some fried dough. YUM

NYC

While staying with Tab and her family we decided to go to NYC for one of the weekends. We stayed in Stamford CT and took the train into the city. The first day we were able to go to Rockafeller Center, Central Park, the Central Park Zoo and Time Square. There were so many neat shops at Time Square we went to the M & M store, Hersheys and Toys' R' Us and of course we had to get our picture with the Naked Cowboy. It was fabulous. We also went to Dillons Candy Bar which was fun. Three stories of just candy... intense! There was a huge Coach Store (3 floors) of course I thought of Kathryn. The next day we got all day subway passes (a must) and went down to Battery Park and took the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. Carson was so cute and keeps telling us that he saw the "statue of iberty" on a boat. Love my nephews. Then we went down to Wall street saw the Stock Exchange and TIFFANY'S! Unfortunately it was Sunday and they were closed so there wasn't even any jewelry in the window (bummer). We visited ground zero but you really couldn't see anything. We then visited Strawberry Fields (where John Lennon was shot) in Central Park. We went to Avenue of the Americas after that to do some shopping at these vendors we saw on Saturday but again it was sunday and they wern't there. We did feel that we were cultured while there though:
1. We ate from a hot dog vendor
2. Rod the Subway and train
3. Had New York Pizza
4. Saw the Statue of Liberty
5. Saw Ground Zero
6. Had a guy come up to us and try to sell us watches out of his coat
7. Walked and walked and walked!
8. Time Square

Overall it was a short amount of time but we were able to see so much and had a wonderful time. I would love to go back on a girl trip sometime! Thank you Tab and Clay for taking me with you.

Trip Home

This past week my parents flew us down so my dad could train me to work for him. We had a great time being home and were able to fit in an Astros game too! Matt was able to return to the sea and get some waves in and I was able to spend time with my family and say goodbye to our house. We have lived there since I was in 7th grade and my parents close on it June 2nd! Crazy to not be going back but I am excited for my parents. While we were there we were also able to eat our anniversary cake. Honestly, it wasn't that bad it was actually still moist. Anyways, here are a few pictures from our trip.

This past weekend I got to go see my bestie perform at her Junior Recital. Kathryn has such an amazing voice and it is so powerful! I had a great time being able to spend time with her and her family. This is a lengthy post... Sorry :)
Matt and I have been wanting new phones for quite awhile and we also knew we needed to get our own cell phone plane. (unfortunately you cannot bum off your parents forever... wish someone would have told us that before) I'm teasing. However, shopping for your own plan is very difficult as you begin trying to squeeze it into your budget. Matt used to have T-mobile and I have been a Verizon girl for quite a while, so those were the main companies we were looking at. We had kind of been wanting the Blackberry pearl but we would have had to buy a monthly data package for each phone and that added up pretty quick. Overall we felt that t-mobile offered us what we wanted at the price we could handle. So we decided that we should still go into the stores to find out if there was anyway we could wheel and deal a little to get a better deal through Verizon. The one in Rexburg was not to informative but had suggested the LG Dare which has everything the Smart phones have without the monthly $30+ dollar data package. So we decided to go to Idaho Falls and check out the T-mobile to see what they could offer us. When we got to the Mall the guy was busy with another customer but didn't even acknowledge us. We were ok with that and decided to go look at the Verizon booth until he was free. Of course in the process we started talking to the representative about our questions and concerns and he was great. Very knowledgeable about the products let us play with the different phones to see what features they offered and how they were different he was awesome but we still wanted to check out the T-mobile booth. So we walked back to the other booth and the guy was free so we went up to him he looks at us (and probably just sees poor college kids)and picks up his phone and dials some number. Talks for a few seconds and then tells us that he will be about 5 mins. I was pretty upset at this point and just said never mind. If our business isn't that important we will go to someone who cares about making a sales whether we are young or old, rich or poor. Quality of service is very important to me I guess that is the by product of working at a 4 diamond resort where service is the key to everything. So we walked right back over to Casey and signed up. He was awesome and I appreciate the time he took to help us decide what would be best for us and suit our needs. Thanks Casey. PS we got the Dare :) Stinks we have to wait till Thursday to get them via FedEx.

Matthew and I will have been married for a year this April. It is hard to believe it has been a year but at the same time we feel like we've been together much longer. Being together sometimes makes it hard to remember what life was like before. Not in a bad way though we are greatful to be together and thankful for the experiences that we have had together and apart. Looking back now here are just a few things that we have done in the past that have made us the caring, fun loving people we are today. They are out of order though.

Valentines

Well I suppose it is time for an update. For Valentines day Matt and I spent the begining of the day cleaning out our old apartment. Then we came to our new apartment and got ready for date night! (which is rare for us, we are usually good just renting a movie) Matthew had his heart set on a blooming onion from the Outback Steakhouse but as we were on our way to Idaho Falls we thought it would be smart to do call ahead seating. However on this special valentines day they were not accepting call ahead seating and said the wait was around an hour. So we thought we would do something else. We drove to the Burger King and after sitting in the parking lot for a minute I turned to Matt and told him that this was lame and I did not get ready for us to eat at Burger King! So we tried something new and went to the Hardhat in Rexburg. We shared an appetizer and the sirloin and shrimp. (We usually always get our own meals but NEVER finsh them. It was the perfect amount and I was stuffed. We had plans to meet with our friends the Shane and Heather Hall to go bowling but that wasn't for another hour so we felt an unexpected trip to the DI would be amussing enough to pass the time... It was haha. We had fun just being silly and waiting for the Halls to be ready. Then we bowled and I kicked butt! I don't know how because Matt and I haven't been bowling for almost a year. We had one bowling date right before we got married and I'm pretty sure we were both horrible then. I guess the Wii practice I've been putting in is finally paying off. I am a pro ya know ;) We had a great time with our friends but most importantly with one another. We enjoy the time that we have together and the love that continues to grow between us each year. More Good News

This morning Matt and I went to St. Anthony, which is 13 miles north of Rexburg and met with a lady that manages the Guesthouse Inn. We had learned about this place from the school bulletin board and called to set up a meeting. The whole deal is that we get to live in an apartment for FREE if we are willing to make sure we are there (in the apartment) from 11pm-7am just incase someone comes to check in or gets locked out of their room. The best part is that we don't have to stay up the whole time we can go to sleep and whenever the bell rings we just have to come downstairs to the front desk and help whoever is there. Pretty awesome! Well the lady (Katie) loved us and so we are planning on starting to move in this weekend! I am really excited mostly just because we will be saving so much now that we would normally have spent on rent and utilities. (ie. more money to spend visiting eachother in the semesters to come :). The only down side to the apartment is that there is no living room. There is a kitchen and bathroom on the lower level and upstairs there is a bedroom and another bathroom. Now we just need a truck to move all our stuff.

Good News!

Well today we got a wonderful phone call from Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis saying that Matt was accepted starting this summer term! Also today I got an email that I was accepted to BYUI as a full time student also starting this summer. You are probably thinking hey this is good news but... these schools are 1500 miles apart. That part does suck but we are thinking ahead and I can get my bachelors done which is something I didn't think was going to happen. I am still planning on applying to dental hygiene school for Fall 2010. Even though being away from eachother is going to be hard we are excited. Who knows what the future will hold but it feels good to know that Matt got into Chiropractic school and we are just that much closer to being done. We love you all and hope everyone is doing well.

Cross Country Skiing

Well Christmas break was a lot of fun. We got to go home to Houston to see our friends and family. We went on a cruise with the Sanders gang to Jamaica, Grand Caymans and Cozumel. Well yesterday we celebrated Tanya's roomate, Holly's, birthday! It started by going to Olive Garden in Idaho Falls then the girls wanted to go to Ross to look for some dresses. We ended up having a pretty great time there and finding som interesting styles. Marie and Emily got some pretty sweet Jackets and Tanya got a cute little sun dress for the Cruise. I had been the day before to get a dress for the cruise as well so I ended up getting a two pairs of tights... ORange and Turqouis! They are awesome!

We had planned on having a BBQ that night also so when I called Tanya to tell her we were ready for them to come over she anounced that they were going to be wearing their dresses they had bought that day so I joined in the fun as well. Here are a few pictures from the night.

Catch up

Well I suppose I should catch up on here. It has been awhile and this next week is going to be crazy with finals and packing to go to Houston for the break!

For Thanksgiving we went down to Clinton, UT to stay with Matt's Uncle Brady and Aunt Shawna. Matt's brothers, Jared and Spencer, came up to visit too. It was so much fun! Matt was extremely happy to be able to spend time with his brothers. I think he has been missing out on that guy bonding stuff ;) The first night we were there we stayed at David's (Matt's cousin) house. It was pretty interesting hanging out with the guys for the night I think we mostly ate food though ha. The next day we went up to Shawna and Brady's and got to spend time with them for the rest of the week. We had a blast with the cousins and I liked having allies to help beat up on Matt. Thanksgiving day we just hung out with the family while they prepared the food. I was kind of out of it cause I had my nose stuck a book for most of the day. The food was fabulous and we got to spend time with family and friends what could be better? Friday we decided to go to Walmart to try to see if there was anything worth getting there. However, we went at 8:30 so most everything was picked over but we did get some DVD's for $2 so it wasn't a total waste. Later Matt and his cousins went snowboarding and Aunt Shawna, her mom, Katie and I went to Ogden to the Christmas Jubilee which is where I took the only picture I have from the week.

Yes this is a Twilight themed Christmas tree! We loved it! There were so many beautiful trees at the Jubilee it made me excited for decorating my tree again next year!

Then we went out to eat at the Junction which had indoor surfing and indoor skydiving. Katie and I decided that we needed to try that sometime. After all that we went and saw Twilight. It was my second time to see it and I think it was better the second time around. Well it was a fun week and a much needed break now we are gearing up for the end of our first semester at BYU-Idaho!

Well Matty and I decided to get our first Christmas tree yesterday and I put it up today! I know it is early November but we figured since we would be out of town for most of December we would put it up now so we can enjoy it longer :) Here are a few pictures!

Halloween

We went to our ward's Halloween Bash Friday night and had a blast! We absolutely love the people in our ward and their fun spirits. It was great because most people dressed up for the event and it was fun to see what they came up with. I have been extremely excited for Halloween and dressing up but I don't think Matt was equally excited. So for the past few weeks I've been throwing out suggestions but most were turned down or he was not very enthusiastic about it. So about 30 min before the party I was ready to just go as ourselves but we decided to try to pull something together. So what can you put together in that amount of time? Well we went to DI and I found a very classy dress and we headed over to Walmart quickly to see what else we could get and well this is how things ended up...

Mothers Weekend

This weekend was mothers weekend and mama Sanders was able to come visit us and Tanya. We had bought tickets for events about 2 weeks ago and then quickly realized that we wouldn't be able to make it to them because on Friday night Tanya and Tiffany had 2 softball games which they won! The first game was against the Knights (ironic huh) they were undefeated and we were losing 1-6. In the last inning we had last bats and won 7-6 it was pretty intense. The next game we won 12-2 (yikes). On Saturday Tiffany had a volleyball game and barely enough girls showed up to play they still played well though and although they lost the scores were pretty close (27-25, 25-23. 25-21) so not bad but we did still lose :(.

Well we have finally settled into our Apartment! It seems like things have just been kinda of disorganized and very cluttered. I had a visitor coming yesterday though and thought it might be good to get things cleaned up so I wasn't to embarrassed. So I enlisted Matt to help me and we got things shining in a little over an hour. I felt this was the perfect time to take pictures so I could share them with our families and Friends.

These are our dish racks that we had to go buy. The ones in the cupboards before were disgusting as was much of the apt but we fixed her up and really like living here now.

This is a terrible picture but it is the best part of our apt/loft :) Having the temple so close is such a blessing even in Houston it was 45 min away. We love to go to the temple and have made it a goal to go weekly.

We have been so blessed in coming up here. Even though it has been hard at times we feel very lucky to be attending BYU-Idaho and know that this is where the Lord wants us to be right now. We love you all and miss you so much!

Rexburg Randomness

Well we made it through the first week of school! Thank goodness! It has been somewhat difficult to adjust to living here but we are enjoying it and excited to be going to school so we can get done! A few days before school I got a job as a food service worker and work in Cafe Kimball. Matt had been trying to find a part time job that he would be interested but had little luck. This past Wednesday though he came into work and spoke to my boss about a BYU-I Catering position and got it! Although we would much rather spend our free time doing fun things we enjoy... we feel really blessed to of both gotten jobs to help supplement our income while attending school full time.

School has been pretty crazy this week trying to get back in the swing of things. For the most part we are excited about our professors and we are happy to be able to take D&C together. We are especially happy to have this class together because we do not have much time to spend with one another between school and work.

Moving on...

When my parents were down here helping us move in and get things in order with our apartment they bought us bicycles! What a blessing it has been... and a curse. We love riding our bikes around town and have even been able to use them to go on dates. They are nice bikes and we even got racks that go over the back tire to hold stuff. That came in handy when we rode to Walmart bought some more things than we planned and realized that we were in our bikes when we were checking out. A few bungee cords and riding one handed got us home safely. However, the down side to having bikes in Rexburg and living at the bottom of the hill is of course having to ride up the hill to get to work and school. On top of that our rears have not quite adapted to the seats and are still pretty tender, then lets just throw on top of that the fact that it is much colder here than good ol' Texas. It stinks in the morning because I have to be to work by 7:30 and Matt to school by 7:45 so we ride together. If you know me you know that I am no morning person and I do not like cold weather. I usually ask Matt if we can take the car but he says no and that riding is good for us... I tell him to tell that to my sore bum though... needless to say we ride our bikes. The reward is when its time to come home and you can just coast home. I just bought a light for my bike but it is pretty lame I think I'll take it back. I have evening classes that do not get out until around 10pm so its cold and dark and I cannot see anything! Going down the hill makes it colder with the wind and makes my eyes water people probably think I am crying.

Anyways, to get to the title of this blog... Today Matt and I were home around 3 or 4 and we made corn dogs and tatter tots (I know nutritious right). I went to the window to close it and looked down at the street where people had started to congregate setting up lawn chairs and sitting on the curb. Also, there were police officers lining the street intersections. This could mean only one thing.... PARADE! But for what? Here are just a few of the pictures we took of this random parade that happened during our after noon snack..

All in all a fun day. Now we know where we will be watching the 4th of July parade next year!

Mexico Trip

We decided that since we were going to be in Idaho for roughly the next two years we would take a trip down to Mexico so Matt could get some quality surfing in to get him through the next few year. Unfortunatly the surf wasn't as amazing as he was expecting but we were still able to enjoy our time down there.
